1 more dengue patient dies; death toll this year now 9

One dengue patient died while 85 patients were admitted at hospitals across the country in 24 hours, till 8 am today.

With this, the dengue death toll in Bangladesh this year rose to nine.

With the new cases – 13 from outside Dhaka – the total number of dengue patients this year rose to 2,580, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Among the patients, 332 are still undergoing treatment.

A total of 2,239 patients have been released from hospitals.

Warning the city corporations of a major outbreak of dengue this year compared to the last couple of years, experts suggested taking extensive measures immediately to control the Aedes mosquito breeding.
