Ebadot bags two wickets in just second over of debut ODI
Bangladesh pacer Ebadot Hossain, scalped two wickets in his just the second over of his ODI debut as Zimbabwe stutter in chase of the total set by Bangladesh.
Tigers were off to a bright start with the ball again in the third ODI against Zimbabwe at Harare today, picking up two early wickets after posting 256 for 9 on the board.
Hasan Mahmud struck in the very first over as opener Takudzwanashe Kaitano tried to play off his pads but missed the line and was given out leg-before for naught. Other opener Tadiwanashe Marumani then charged Mehedi Hasan Miraz in the second over but missed the line of the delivery to see his stumps disturbed.
Ebadot came in to bowl just his second over in the ODI format in the sixth over and the pacer, flown in as a recent addition to the squad following the first ODI, did not disappoint. The third delivery of the over kicked off from a length and got the shoulder of Wessley Madhevere's bat and went straight to point as Mehedi took the catch to see the right-hander dismissed for 1. Ebadot was on a hattrick when he beat the in-form Sikandar Raza with pace as the very full delivery squeezed in after taking an inside-edge to leave the stumps shattered.
With Raza gone for naught, Bangladesh will hope there is no rescue act from the remaining Zimbabwe batters after the hosts had assailed Bangladesh's totals of 303 and 290 in the first two ODIs. Zimbabwe were 31 for 5 in 8.2 overs when Taijul Islam trapped Innocent Kaia out leg-before for 10.
