‘Orphan: First Kill’ coming to Star Cineplex on Friday
"Orphan: First Kill", the prequel to the popular American psychological horror film "Orphan", directed by William Brent Bell will be released at all four branches of Star Cineplex on Friday. The film stars Isabelle Fuhrman, Julia Stiles and Rossif Sutherland in the lead roles.
In the original film, "Orphan", Isabelle Fuhrman plays Leena Klammer, an orphan suffering from hypopituitarism—who looks like a child. She chooses to identify herself as 'Esther', the lost child of Richard and Katie Mauerova. Richard comes to the conclusion that she is not his daughter, but Katie disagrees, thinking her husband is paranoid and experiencing hallucinations.
Leena tries to split the couple up, which causes a lot of issues within the family. But the couple quickly learn about Leena's violent past.
The prequel mainly revolves around the violent past of Esther. After escaping from a psychiatric facility in Estonia, Esther travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. Yet, an unexpected twist arises, that pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost.
The 2009 horror-thriller was a big success and quickly gained a reputation among horror-fans for its spooky performances, particularly the unexpected twist at the end.
