6 more cinema halls to air ‘Poran’ from tomorrow
Blockbuster "Poran" was released on July 10 in only 11 movie halls across the nation. With the number of halls airing the film increasing every week, 6 new theatres have added the production to their show-list. On its 47th day since release, the production will be airing in 32 halls from tomorrow.
Among the 6 new halls, 4 theatres are located outside Dhaka. Yeasir Arafat, the director of the film's production company Live technologies, informed The Daily Star.
"The film is performing better with every passing week. I would like to thank our audience for making this production a success," he said.
While the hall owners were seen to complain about the business dying out in this stream, "Poran" has revived their hope.
"We had aired 'Poran' a couple of times before we started scheduling shows for 'Hawa'. Now, for the third time, 'Poran' will be airing in our theatre from tomorrow," shared Modhumita Cinema Hall's owner, Iftekhar Uddin Nawshad. "We need more such productions in the longer run."
The current president of Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samity, Illias Kanchan, is also happy with the revival of the film industry through "Poran". "There is no alternative to good productions – this film has just proven the truth in this statement,' he said.
Alongside local halls, "Poran" was also released in Australia recently, where the tickets for its show were pre-booked. The filmis also slated to release in 3 European countries next month.
"This film will always remain as a mile marker in my career,' said the film's lead Bidya Sinha Mim. "I am grateful to my fans for accepting and appreciating our effort."
The Raihan Rafi directorial love triangle, featuring Yash Rohan, Bidya Sinha Mim, Sariful Razz, Rosey Siddiqui, Shahiduzzaman Selim and Nasir Uddin Khan, will also release in multiple theatres across the US.
