I am not in ‘Munna Bhai 3’: Chanchal Chowdhury clarifies
A rumour was being spread around social media that National Film awardee Chanchal Chowdhury is going to appear in of Rajkumar Hirani's "Munna Bhai 3".
However, the actor told The Daily Star that this is a nothing but a rumour. "I was in a meeting with Dr Hasan Mahmud, Information Minister, regarding our film 'Hawa'," says the actor. "After completing the meeting, when I browsed through social media, I discovered that I am apparently going to work in 'Munna Bhai 3', which is not true at all."
Chanchal, who recently stole the hearts of the audience after his stunning performance in Hoichoi's latest series "Karagar", was praised by both Bangladeshi and Indian audiences. Huzefa Kapadia, Chief Operations Officer, Disney+ Hotstar, recently posted on her social media, praising the actor's recent performance in the Syed Ahmed Shawki directorial series.
In her post, she wrote, "Brother you are a true artiste with God Gifted acting skills and mesmerising expression to hypnotize anyone with your performance." She also wrote, "See you very soon in our casting table, and let's plan something big. Wishing you all the success for your near future." Adding to this, "By the way Mamu Munna bhai is looking for you." added Kapadia in the post.
This is from where all the confusion arose. Chanchal also informed that Disney+ Hotstar is planning to expand their business into Bangladesh, for which they might come by the end of this year. "We have talked about working in a production for the platform, which is expected to be directed by Rajkumar Hirani," says the actor. "They are planning to collaborate with Bangladesh, hence the cast will be from here and Mumbai as well."
Chanchal also said that Hirani is known as 'Mamu Munna' by his close ones, and this is from where the confusion stemmed from. The actor is in the talks with Amazon Prime's popular series "Paatal Lok" season 2, where he will be seen as the main antagonist. "The media should have contacted me to verify this news," concluded the actor.
