FBCCI seeks Jica’s assistance to set up lab at ports
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has sought cooperation from Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica) to establish lab facilities at land, sea and international airports in Bangladesh.
FBCCI Senior Vice President Mostofa Azad Chowdhury made the call during a meeting with the representatives of Jica and Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) at the chamber's office in Dhaka today.
North-Eastern states of India have huge demand for Bangladeshi food and agro products and accredited lab facilities at land ports will facilitate exporting these products to those states, Babu said.
Airport and seaports' lab will help Bangladesh in exploring foods to global market, Chowdhury said. Hence, he urged Jica to come up with a financial and technical assistance project.
Teruaki Fujii, a representative from Jica's head office, also spoke.
