Ayan Mukerji's mythological fantasy drama "Brahmastra" has reportedly crossed the 100 crore mark at the worldwide box office. According to the Indian box office report, the Hindi version of "Brahmastra" collected Rs 31 crores on Day 1, while it minted Rs 35 crores on the second day. However, many industry insiders are claiming that the box office figures are being manipulated by the producers.

Ayan Mukerjee posted on Instagram that the film has collected rupees 160 crores at the worldwide box office within two days.

The big-budget movie has received mixed reviews as many critics called out the movie for its 'overuse of VFX and less content value'. Kangana Ranaut slammed its producer Karan Johar for allegedly buying reviews and reporting fake collection numbers for "Brahmastra".

According to reports by Bollywoodlife, visuals of empty theatres and the availability of tickets at online app has added fuel to 'manipulated box office figures' debate. "Brahmastra" has become a hot topic on Twitter, as social media users are divided in their opinions.

"No wonder it took Ayan Mukerji years to finally bring 'Brahmastra' to life. A true labour of love, you witness the magic in every frame. Fab VFX. The light & fire is sure to add sparks at the box office.  Ranbir Kapoor is earnest, and Alia Bhatt endearing," wrote one of the users on Twitter.

Another user said, "Full empty seat and fake box office collection. Boycott Bollywood and Boycott 'Brahmastra'."

"Brahmastra" features an ensemble of renowned actors including Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and a cameo by Shah Rukh Khan. The film has apparently had an advance booking of around 18 crores net plus on Wednesday, which is coined as the highest record in a single day.
