Veteran entrepreneur Nasir Uddin Biswas no more
Eminent industrialist Nasir Uddin Biswas, founder of glass and melamine manufacturer Nasir Group of Industries, is no more.
He breathed his last today at around 7 am at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
He was undergoing treatment for various complications at Evercare, Shamsul Islam Shamim, general manager for corporate affairs at Nasir Group of Industries, told The Daily Star over phone.
The recipient of "Business Person of the Year" award at the Bangladesh Business Awards in 2013, Nasir Uddin Biswas was 78 years old at the time of his demise.
Nasir began his journey in business as a small trader in the 1970s and over time he built 15 factories that are making float glass, glassware, melamine, footwear, energy saving lamps and tobacco.
He will be buried at his family graveyard in his home district Kushtia after Namaz-e-Janaza at his factory premises in Tangail.
His first Namaz-e-Janaza took place at Azad Mosque of Gulshan after Zohr prayers, said Shamim.
