Jahanara, Fargana ruled out of Women's T20WC Qualifier

Bangladesh pacer Jahanara Alam has been ruled out of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier 2022 in Abu Dhabi after sustaining a hand injury in practice on Thursday. 

The experienced bowler required two stitches on her right hand for the injury.  She has been replaced in the squad  by Fariha Islam Trisna, said a press release from Bangladesh Cricket Board on Friday. 

Meanwhile, batter Fargana Hoque Pinky has tested positive for Covid and is being treated as per the medical protocol for the event. Shohaly Ahther has been named as her replacement in the team, added the press release.

The replacement players will be joining the squad in Abu Dhabi tomorrow. 

Bangladesh's campaign in the tournament opens with a match against Ireland on 18 September.
