New York State Assembly honours FBCCI President Md Jashim Uddin
FBCCI President Md Jashim Uddin has been conferred with prestigious "Honour" from the New York State Assembly, the lower chamber of the New York State Legislature in the US.
Jashim received the honour as the first Bangladeshi businessman at an event titled "Celebrating 50 Years of US-Bangladesh Relations" held in New York on Saturday, the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) said in a press release.
Addressing the event, Jashim said this event will open doors for taking the US-Bangladesh relationship to a newer height.
He also urged the third and fourth-generation Bangladeshis living in the US to help Bangladesh's businesses enter the mainstream market there.
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen was present at the ceremony as the chief guest. Mohammad Monirul Islam, consul general of Bangladesh in New York; Atiur Rahman, former governor of Bangladesh Bank, and Soma Syed, a judge of NYC Court, also attended the event.
