Five iconic songs of legendary rockstar, Ayub Bachchu
Today marks the fourth death anniversary of Bangladesh's legendary musician, Ayub Bachchu. His passion, commitment, and drive for music made him a legend in the industry.
His inadmissible departure left a void in the hearts of the audience, who were once bewitched by the magic of his Rupali Guitar.
While most of Ayub Bachchu's songs are masterpieces in their own right, I wanted to share five songs from the iconic maestro that are close to my heart.
Rupali Guitar
"Ey Rupali Guitar Fele
Ek din chole jabo dure, bohu dure"
We all know about Ayub Bachchu's love for guitars. He used to call himself "Bharakhata Guitar r Bharakhata Premik". When he was asked to explain himself, he said, "I left my home not for my lover, but for my guitar." The rockstar had a total of 56 guitars in his collection.
When listening to the lyrics of this song, it truly feels like Ayub Bachchu has set out on a long journey, leaving us behind in tears with only his beautiful music to remember him by.
Sei Tumi Keno Eto Ochena Hole
This is probably Ayub Bachchu's most well-known song, which people still play to this day during hangout and family gatherings. This song conveys the anguish of hurting someone unintentionally, as well as the terror of losing the love of your soulmate.
Hashte Dekho Gaite Dekho
Penned by Latiful Islam Shibli, from the album, "Capsule 500 mg", this song depicts the inner feelings of people, when they feel lonely amidst the crowd. In the chaos of life, we often feel that no one really understands us fully and this song truly embodies that feeling.
Ekhon Onek Raat
The song was released in 1996 on the album "Ferari Mon". "Ekhon Onek Raat" made me fall in love with life again. The lyrics and melody of this song are so soothing and beautiful that it takes back the audience to a magical night—from a time in their lives when they had no pain and regrets.
Meye
This upbeat song was penned by Niaz Ahmed Aungshu, which is a favourite among his fans. The song captivates the audience with the guitar riff at the beginning and slowly takes the audience on a journey of a wide range of emotions.
