4 Bangladeshi origin candidates win at US midterm elections
Four Bangladeshi origin candidates have been elected in the US midterm elections from different states.
The midterm elections were held in the United States on Tuesday (November 8, 2022) local time.
The four Bangladeshi winning candidates are Georgia state senators Sheikh Rahman and Nabilah Islam, Connecticut State Senator Md Masudur Rahman and New Hampshire House of Representative Aboul Khan.
Bangladeshi American Sheikh Rahman was elected for the third time unopposed in the state of Georgia. Nabilah Islam won the Georgia State Senate election for the first time. Masudur Rahman also won the Connecticut State Senate polls for the first time. They all ran for Biden's Democratic Party.
On the other hand, Republican candidate Aboul Khan of Bangladeshi origin has won the post of New Hampshire House of Representatives for the fifth time in a row.
Expatriate Bangladeshis are rejoicing over the victories of the four Bangladeshi Americans.
