After Dhaka, now Chattogram airport to get 6 e-gates
In order to expedite immigration procedures and improve the quality of services, the administration of Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport has finished all preparations for the opening of six electronic gates.
Immigration police will be in charge of operating the E-gates, and each gate will have cameras installed.
Passengers can easily pass through the E-gates because they automatically open after submitting an e-passport, and the entire process only takes 30 seconds, according to airport authorities.
Earlier on June 7, 12 e-gates were opened at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka to facilitate faster immigration for inbound and outbound passengers. However, the e-gates were found to be counter productive since immigration is still being done manually after passengers pass through e-gates.
