Twelve journos win ERF best reporting awards

Twelve journalists in eight categories of print, digital and television of different media outlets won the best reporting awards given by the Economic Reporters' Forum (ERF) as a recognition of their outstanding reporting capability.

Planning Minister MA Mannan handed over the awards and crests to the winners of bKash ERF Best Reporting Award at an event held at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) in Dhaka yesterday.

In macroeconomy category Doulot Akter Mala, special correspondent of the Financial Express received the best award in print version.

In the same category, Hasanul Alam Shaon, senior reporter of the NTV, and Md Shah Alam Khan, senior reporter of the News Bangla (Now in Kalbela), also received the awards.

Fakhrul Islam Harun, special correspondent of Prothom Alo, and Alamgir Hossain, senior reporter of the Jamuna Television, received the award under capital market category.

Mousumi Islam, staff reporter of Dainik Bangla, and Shanaullah Sakib, senior reporter of Prothom Alo, jointly received the award in bank and insurance category while Babu Kamruzzaman, senior reporter of the News24, also received the same award under the same category in television version.

Arifur Rahman, senior reporter of Prothom Alo, received the award in investigative category.

In private sector category, two journalists of Prothom Alo—senior reporter Jahangir Shah Kajol and deputy business editor Shuvankor Karmakar received the award jointly.

Md Shofiqul Islam, senior reporter of the Dhaka Post, received the award in international trade and remittance category.

Shanaullah Sakib of Prothom Alo received the award under the agro-economy and Jahangir Shah Kajol of Prothom Alo received the best reporting award under the revenue category.

Mobile financial service provider bKash funded the award of Tk 1 lakh each.

Kamal Quadir, founder and chief executive officer of bKash, also spoke and handed over the crests to the winners.
