Two liberation war-based films released on victory day

On the occasion of the victory day, two films based on the liberation war were released yesterday in 23 theatres countrywide. One is Kazi Hayat directorial, "Joy Bangla" and the other is "Ekatorrer Ekkhondo Itihash" directed by Mizanur Rahman Shamim.

"Joy Bangla" was released in 16 halls while "Ekatorrer Ekkhondo Itihash" was released in 7 halls.

"Joy Bangla" is based on a novel of the same name, which was written by Professor Muntassir Mamoon. Zahara will be taking on the role of Dola and the actress will be seen without any makeup in this film. The film also stars Bappy Chowdhury in the lead role.

Earlier, the trailer and poster of the film heavily disappointed the audiences. According to audiences, both the poster and trailer of "Joy Bangla" failed to impress them, with many saying that from what they had seen so far, the movie did not offer 'anything new' and seemed to 'lack in substance'.

On the other hand, "Ekattorer Ekkhondo Itihash" stars prominent actor Rubel in the lead role.
