Shah Rukh Khan only Indian actor on Empire’s 50 greatest actors’ list
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been featured in an international list of the '50 greatest actors of all time'. The list has been created by Empire Magazine, which includes some of the biggest name in the global entertainment industry, including the likes of Marlon Brando, Tom Hanks, Kate Winslet and many more. Shah Rukh Khan is the first and only Indian to be featured on the list.
Empire's list cites some of his notable roles, over his decades-long career, including Rahul Khanna in "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Devdas in "Devdas", Mohan Bhargava in "Swades" and Rizwan Khan from "My Name is Khan".
The publication further claimed, "Shah Rukh Khan has a fan base that numbers in the billions and a career spanning four decades of almost uninterrupted hits. Without extreme charisma and complete knowledge of your craft, you can't pull that off. He is proficient in practically every genre, therefore there isn't much he can't do."
The list also included Shah Rukh's famous quote from "Jab Tak Hai Jaan": "Everyday, life kills us a little. A bomb will kill you only once."
Shah Rukh recently appeared in "Brahmastra", an Ayan Mukerji film, in a cameo role. Shah Rukh's upcoming film, "Pathaan", which he co-stars in with Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, is directed by Siddharth Anand. "Besharam Rang", the first song from the movie, recently sparked controversy when many took issue with Deepika's saffron bikini and other costume choices.
