The Daily Star reporter wins Asia Foundation-IED Media fellowship
A journalist of The Daily Star has won "The Asia Foundation-IED Media Fellowship 2022".
The newspaper's reporter, Md Abbas, has received the award for a report on disinformation titled "Cyberbullying increases by 20%".
With the support of The Asia Foundation, Institute for Environment and Development (IED) presented the awards at Folk Centre, IED in the capital today.
Five other journalists also received the award.
They are Hasan Wali of private television News24, Ahammad Ullah Sikder of Channel24, Md Alkama of Dhakapost, Shamim Ahmed of daily Jaijaidin and Tanjina Aman Tanjum of Dhaka Tribune.
Akter Hossain, general secretary of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ), handed over the certificates, crests and prize money among the winners.
Sanjay Dey, head of news of NewsBangla24.com, Mridha Md Shiblee Noman, assistant professor of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies at Jahangirnagar University, Amir Muhammad Jewel, former joint general secretary of Crab, KM Shahiduzzaman, social welfare officer of Social Welfare Department and Numan Ahmed Khan, executive director of IED were present at the event, among others.
