After Mahi, Urmila pledges to buy nomination form in next elections

On December 29, actor Mahiya Mahi bought the nomination form from the Awami League office intending to stand for the role of Member of Parliament (MP) in the Chapai Nawabganj-2 constituency.

Now, "Aynabaji" actor Urmila Srabanti Kar has pledged to buy a nomination form next elections, as part of the Awami League. The actor revealed wish to stand for a seat to the media on January 1 at the trailer release event of the Arifin Shuvoo starrer film, "Black War".

‘I want to ensure legal rights for artistes’

Urmila Srabanti Kar has been a member of the Chhatra League since her college days, at the University of Chattogram. She was the secretary of Women Affairs and the joint secretary of the Legislative Council back then.

The actor affirmed that her political career began before she was even an actor. Even now, she is a part of the Women Affairs Sub Committee.
