Prarthana Fardin Dighi melted hearts, with her beautiful smile and wonderful performances in movies like "Kabuliwala", "Ek Takar Bou", and "Chachchu Amar Chachchu" as a child artiste. Growing up, the young actress made headlines for all the wrong reasons, but still didn't give up on her dedication to acting.

You recently joined the cast of the web-film, "Fera". Tell us about your character.

This will be one of the finest characters I have played in my career. I cannot disclose the details yet, but I can tell you that it will be full of surprises. My character is quite lovely and attractive. The audience will be able to see me in a completely new avatar.

New year, new Dighi

How was the experience of shooting the film "Mujib: The Make of a Nation"?

This has to be one of the best experiences in my career. Shooting in the film city of Mumbai, under the direction of Shyam Benegal, felt like a dream come true. Sometimes, while on set, I even questioned myself if this was real or not.

In preparation for the role, I tried my best to learn as much about the life of Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib as possible. I tried my best to portray the character accurately on the screen.

At present, who is your favourite actress?

It's hard to name just one person, as everyone is close to my heart. However, I do enjoy Shobnom Bubly's acting. Aside from her, I also find Nusraat Faria to be very glamorous and Bidya Sinha Mim to be one of the finest actresses.

Recently, you made headlines about being the 'victim' of a film 'syndicate'. Raihan Rafi also talked about your fitness and TikTok with the media. What's are your opinions on this?

I didn't mention anyone's name in my Facebook post. Now, if anyone thinks it's about them, then be it. It only proves that he has a guilty conscience. If he believes I am not fit and all I do is TikTok, then that's his perspective. I just want to work with people who don't think of me like that.

As a child artiste you won the National Film Award three times. However, now you haven't had that many stellar performances. Does it affect you?

I have only just started my career as an actress. There is a long way to go before I start giving my best performances. It will only be possible with good directors and the right projects. This will take time. I urge the audience to be patient, instead of giving up on me. Please let me go at my own pace, so that I can continue to grow as an artiste.

What projects do you have in the pipeline?

I have just completed the shoot for the government-granted film, "Srabon Josnay". At the end of this month, I will begin the shooting for "Fera".
