Bangladeshi youth freezes to death while entering Greece

A Bangladeshi youth froze to death along Turkey-Greece border while trying to enter Greece illegally recently.

The victim, Tanil Ahmed, 22, was a resident of Thakurbhog village in Sunamganj's Shantiganj upazila, reports our Sylhet correspondent, quoting his family.

The family came to know about the death on Monday.

His uncle Nur Miah said Tanil, a BBA final-year student at a local college in Sunamganj, went to the United Arab Emirates in November last year for migrating to Europe.

After reaching Dubai, Tanil moved to Turkey, Nur said.

"On Monday, Bangladeshi youth Masum Ahmed, who was going to Greece along with Tanil, informed them that Tanil froze to death while trying to enter Greece scaling the mountains," he added.

Nur said they did not know the procedures of bringing the body back home.

"We are trying to communicate with Bangladeshis living in Turkey to get the body," he added.
