93-year-old Masud Ali Khan in tears after meeting co-actors
Masud Ali Khan is a beloved name in the television industry. Yesterday, the 93-year-old actor was felicitated with the Khaled Khan award at the Aly Zaker Notuner Utshab, which took place yesterday.
Even though he is bound to the wheelchair these days and cannot act, his passion for the craft is the same. "I got out of my house after three months. Receiving the Khaled Khan award is special for me, since I knew him personally – I always told him to sing more often, as he had a wonderful voice.
"I have no regrets. Even though I cannot act anymore, I request the Almighty to not take away my ability to see others do the same with my eyes," he told The Daily Star.
The actor further said that backstage, when he was meeting his peers, he could not hold back his emotions. "I was in tears, it felt so good to meet the actors and my peers that I love so much", he said, as he met fellow greats like Mamunur Rashid, Asaduzzaman Noor, Ferdausi Majumdar and Nasiruddin Yousuff, among others.
Masud Ali Khan's career started in 1965 with theatre troupe Drama Circle. For more than 5 decades, he entertained us with hit films like "Dui Duari", "Dipu Number 2" and "Matir Moina" and television series "Kul Nai Kinar Nai", "Eishob Dinratri" and "Kothao Keu Nai".
