Distributors willing to pay profit share to Film Artistes Association
Bangladesh Film Artistes Association have given their consent regarding the import of Bollywood movies. However, they have added a condition demanding a 10 percent share of the profits from the import of these movies.
On Tuesday, the General Secretary of the Film Artistes Association, actress Nipun gave a statement on behalf of the association, noting the 10 percent profit share would be used to support artistes.

Meanwhile, the exhibitors and distributors association has raised a strong demand for the release of imported movies. The organisation has reacted positively to the Film Artistes Association's demands.
Sudipta Kumar Das, Advisor of the Exhibitors' Association, told The Daily Star, "We are willing to pay 10 percent, considering the humanitarian aspect. Earlier on, many artistes had blocked the import of Bollywood movies, but Nipun remained firm and helped us in this situation. We are willing to sit down with the Artiste's Association to discuss the release of 'Pathaan'."
A decision was supposed to be made regarding the release of "Pathaan" in Bangladesh on January 24. However, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting could not come to a decision in that meeting. At the time, they informed The Daily Star that they had to send a letter to the Ministry of Commerce, as there are some issues regarding movie import and the SAFTA agreement.
