Versatile Bollywood singer, Alka Yagnik has topped the list of most-streamed artists on YouTube in 2022, surpassing popular Korean band BTS.

 

Versatile Bollywood singer, Alka Yagnik has topped the list of most-streamed artists on YouTube in 2022, surpassing popular Korean band BTS.

Alka Yagnik gathered a whopping 15.3 billion YouTube streams in 2022, according to the Guinness Book Of World Records—with an average of 42 million streams every day.

She is now ranked first in YouTube's global rankings for 2022, ahead of Bad Bunny—who was placed second with 14.7 billion streams. Indians dominated the list of world's most-streamed artists on YouTube, taking seven spots out of ten performers in the list.

Other Indian singers on the overall list include Udit Narayan at 10.8 billion, Arijit Singh at 10.7 billion, and Kumar Sanu at 9.09 billion streams.

South Korean superstars BTS, with 7.95 billion, and BLACKPINK, with 7.03 billion, also captured the top-10 spot while other well-known singers had to settle for slots further down the list.

Taylor Swift with 4.33 billion was ranked 26th, Drake with 2.9 billion placed 50th, and The Weeknd with 5.7 billion was ranked 13th.
 

Alka Yagnik has won the Best Female Playback Singer at the Filmfare Awards seven times.  Her most recent nomination was for her song "Agar Tum Saath Ho" from Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone's 2015 film, "Tamasha".
