‘Hawa’, ‘Damal’ to screen at ‘Amar Bhashar Chalachchitra 1429’ in TSC

To promote Bangla cinema to a larger audience, the largest film festival of Bangla language ‘Amar Bhashar Chalachchitra 1429’, organized by Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS), will take place at the TSC premises of Dhaka University from February 5 to 9.

 

To promote Bangla cinema to a larger audience, the largest film festival of Bangla language 'Amar Bhashar Chalachchitra 1429', organized by Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS), will take place at the TSC premises of Dhaka University from February 5 to 9.

The 21st edition of the largest Bangla film festival will feature notable contemporary films such as 'Hawa', 'Beauty Circus', 'Damal', and 'Manikbabur Megh' alongside the classics over the course of the festival. 

Films from both Bangladesh and West Bengal will be screened at the festival. Moreover two short films and one documentary will also be shown. Aside from enjoying films, cinephiles will have the opportunity to interact with the film cast and crew.

The festival will conclude with a closing ceremony honoring Hiralal Sen, the first filmmaker in the Indian subcontinent. The 'Hiralal Sen Padak' will be awarded to the best film of the past calendar year.

Since 2002, Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS) has successfully organized 20 editions of this festival to honour the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Bangla language. 

The screenings are open to all. Tickets will be available at the venue.
