I'm not here as an actor but a writer : Ferdous
Acclaimed actor Ferdous has always been a lover of books and an admirer of the Ekushey Boi Mela. Since his Dhaka University days, the actor was fond of perusing through the festival either with friends or alone.
For him, the Boi Mela holds countless sweet memories. Just yesterday, the actor had finally visited the Boi Mela again, after quite a while.
Ferdous shared, "I am feeling quite nostalgic, after coming to the Boi Mela this year. It took me back to fond memories of my last visit."
"This time, I have come to the Boi Mela not as an actor but as a writer," he added.
Ferdous's novel titled "Ei Kahini Shotto Noy" is his first book to be published and displayed at the Boi Mela.
The book is being published by Prothoma,with cover design by the noted artist Mashuk Helal.
The "Hothat Brishti" famed actor unwrapped his new book's cover at the Boi Mela. Present alongside Ferdous, were renowned literary persona Anisul Hoque, and the noted musician Kabir Bakul.
He expressed,"I have always given autographs before, as an actor. This time, I am signing autographs as an author. This is an exhilarating new experience for me, which can't be expressed in words."
About his novel, the actor said, "It has a reflection of childhood memories and life stories."
Speaking on the current state of Boi Mela, the actor mentioned that he did not expect such a large crowd on the third day. He feels that the response to buying books on the other hand, is not similar to the numbers that are flocking the Mela.
As an end note,the actor inspired his fans to read his book and express their thoughts . He proclaimed that this will inspire him to write more. Ferdous also thanked everyone present at the event and hopes that people's interest in books will reignite more than before.
