Anonno Mamun’s 'Radio' sent to Censor Board
For the first time, a film is being made based on the historic speech delivered by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 7,1971 at the Ramna Race Course field. Directed by Anonno Mamun, the film is called "Radio". Set in 1971, the plot revolves around a radio that kept a remote village connected to the rest of the world.
The film is currently under review by the Censor Board. The director informed The Daily star, that he is planning to release the film around March 3 or March 10, once it gains clearance.
"March 7 is a very important day and the effects that Bangabandhu's speech had on the citizens of the country is monumental." said the director. "The story showcases how his speech affected the people of the country and the sacrifices they made to achieve freedom", he added.
The film features Riaz, Zakia Bari Mamo, Lutfur Rahman George, Nader Chowdhury and Pran Ray among others in pivotal roles.
