‘Saturday Afternoon’ trailer to release today
After much debacle, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's "Saturday Afternoon" will be released across North America on March 10. Prior to the international release the trailer of the film will be released today at 6.30pm, according to the makers, Jaaz Multimedia.
Jaaz Multimedia took to Facebook and posted, " "Saturday Afternoon" will be uploaded today at 6:30pm on Jaaz's youtube channel. On 10th march 2023 the movie will be released in America and Canada and gradually all around the globe (except Bangladesh)."
The director of the film, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki also posted a status on Facebook and wrote, "The trailer of the film should release on 21st February, isn't it?"
The film is based on the gruesome terrorist attack in Dhaka's Holey Artisan Bakery in 2016, the 83-minute film was shot in one take.
After a four-year long battle with Bangladesh Film Censor Board, the film was ultimately approved for release in January. However, it appears that Bangladesh's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting hasn't had a change of heart, and the circumstance is still unclear.
"Saturday Afternoon" earned a lot of appreciation internationally, in some of the biggest festivals across the world and stars Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Zahid Hasan, Mamunur Rashid and Parambrata Chatterjee, among others.
