Jaya Ahsan praises ‘Mayar Jonjal’
Indranil Roychowdhury's Bangladesh-India joint venture directorial "Mayar Jonjal" (Debris of Desire) was released in Bangladesh and Kolkata on Friday. The film stars Aupee Karim and Ritwick Chakraborty in the lead roles.
Since its release, the film has been running houseful in several cinema halls, with many celebrities coming forward to share how the film had impressed them.
Noted actress Jaya Ahsan took to her Facebook account today to praise "Mayar Jonjal".
"The film has been running houseful in the cinema halls. Quite often, I see a lot of people expressing how they are craving a good artistic film, yet they have been rather quiet about 'Mayar Jonjal'. This is our film too, isn't it? Aupee Karim plays the lead role in the film and is based on the stories of a Bengali author, Manik Bandopadhyay," wrote Jaya.
"If our directors, artistes, and producers keep making good films, not only will our film industry thrive, but also the audience's thirst for good films will increase," she added.
Jaya Ahsan also wrote about how the director, Indranil Roychowdhury connected four people in the story with love and showed the struggles of their lives.
Lastly, she urged the audience to keep supporting good films.
"Mayar Jonjal" is based on two short stories by Manik Bandopadhyay, titled "Bishakto Prem" and "Shubala". The film marks the return of renowned actress Aupee Karim on the silver screen, after almost 15 years.
The film stars Shohel Mondol, Kamalika Banerjee, Paran Banerjee, Bratya Basu, and Chandreyee Ghosh, among others.
