Metro rail Mirpur-10 station opens tomorrow
The fifth metro rail station is set to be opened tomorrow.
Mirpur-10 station will be opened to commuters at 8:30am tomorrow, MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd said today.
As per an earlier announcement, the authority is scheduled to open all nine stations between Uttara and Agargaon within few days.
Siddique said they will announce the opening dates for the rest within this month.
Replying to another question, he said they will start to increase the duration of train operations after March and will go for a full-fledged (morning to midnight) operation from July.
Currently, metro trains are being operated from 8:30am to 12:30pm.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on December 28 last year inaugurated the country's first ever metro rail. It was opened to the public the following day.
At first, the trains were operated between Uttara to Agargaon without stopping. Later, two more stations—Pallabi, Uttara Centre—were opened to the public.
