Biman flight makes emergency landing after tyre burst
A Biman flight from Kolkata made a safe emergency landing at Dhaka yesterday after the Dash-8 aircraft suffered a tyre blowout while taking off.
All 72 passengers on board were unharmed.
Flight BG392 took off for Dhaka from the Kolkata airport around 8:35am local time and Captain Anisur Rahman at the helm realised that a tyre of a main landing gear had gone off, Group Captain Kamrul Islam, executive director at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, told The Daily Star.
The pilot declared emergency and the airport firetruck and ambulances were deployed.
Captain Anisur landed the De Havilland Canada Dash-8 at 10:03am.
