Mithila signs another film in Kolkata
Rafiath Rashid Mithila has been busy working in both Bangladesh and Kolkata. The actress made her silver screen debut with two films in two countries— Anonno Mamun's "Omanush" in Bangladesh and Sauvik Kundu's "Ay Khuku Ay" in India, last year.
She has recently signed another film in Tollywood titled "Meghla", which will be directed by Arbab K Middya. In this film Mithila will play the titular role, which revolves around a girl raised in an orphanage who later finds the love of her life doctor Abir, played by Tollywood actor Gaurav Chakrabarty, who goes missing and struggles to find him.
Mithila informed The Daily Star that she is currently shooting the film. "We will shoot in different locations in Kolkata and Siliguri," shares the artiste. "This film is all about how a simple woman can transform into a mighty force of nature to fight against injustice."
While talking about the story, she explained that her experience of working with women from different parts of the world has helped her prepare for the role. "As a development worker I have got the opportunity of working closely with women from different countries and communities around the world," added Mithila.
"So I am very familiar with the obstacles faced by women at different levels of society and at the same time with their indomitable strength, which women themselves do not always express or understand."
According to Mithila, "Meghla" is a shining example of how an ordinary girl can become extraordinary.
About upcoming projects Mithila informed that the government granted film "Jole Jole Tara" has been submitted to the Censor Board. While the actress has completed dubbing for the Gias Uddin Selim directorial project "Kajol Rekha"; "Neetishastra", another Kolkata film featuring her, is garnering accolades in different international film festivals.
The actress has also completed the shooting of the children's film "Nuiachorir Shonar Pahar", and this Eid-ul-Fitr she will be seen in the Chorki original project "Myself Allen Shwapan".
Another Tollywood film of hers, "Maya" also awaits release.
