Two of 19 Gulistan blast victims from Munshiganj
Two people among the 19 killed in the blast at Siddique Bazar in the capital's Gulistan were from Munshiganj.
Besides, another person from the same district was admitted to Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute with severe injuries, reported our Munshiganj correspondent.
Mohiuddin Akhand, 50, one of the two deceased, had gone to the ill-fated building yesterday afternoon to buy some sanitary products.
He was of Adhara union in Munshiganj Sadar. He worked as a manager in a sanitary shop, said his relatives.
His nephew Hamidur Rahman said he was sitting in a shop of the building at the time of the blast.
Abu Jafar Siddique Tarek, 33, another deceased, was of Baluakandi union in Gazaria upazila.
Tarek's cousin Rashedul Hasan said, "Tarek died on the spot during the explosion. My other cousin Awlad, 25, who was with Tarek, was seriously burned in the blast. About 90 percent of his body was burnt. He is on life support at the Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute."
The bodies were recovered from the building last night and handed over to their relatives after completing legal procedures.
Namaz-e-Janaza of Mohiuddin and Tarek were held before they were buried at their native homes this morning.
