Abahani Limited registered an eleven-run win over Shinepukur Cricket Club in Duckworth Lewis and Stern method as rain forced the other two games off between Gazi Group Cricketers-Dhaka Leopard and Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club-Mohammedan Sporting Club in the Dhaka Premier League on Sunday.

In a curtailed match at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, Shinepukur posted 196 for eight in 33 overs after being sent to bat, courtesy of thirties from Avishek Mitra, Khalid Hossain and Sajjadul Haque.

Left-arm spinner Tanvir Islam bagged three wickets for which he was adjudged the player of the match, while Mohammad Saifuddin and Rakibul Hasan scalped two wickets each for Abahani.

Abahani, in reply, chased the target with nine wickets in hand and 12 overs to spare on the back of opener Anamul Haque, who remained unbeaten on 54 off 64 balls as he struck four sixes and a boundary.

Mohammad Naim also added 43 runs as he along with Anamul put on a 91-run opening stand to set up consecutive wins for Abahani.
In the other match between Rupganj and Mohammedan at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, rain reduced the contest to 21 overs per side.

Rupganj posted a huge total of 222 for five on the back of Mominul Haque's blistering 41-ball 74 that featured eleven fours and a six, and Indian recruit Amandeep Khare smashed three sixes and eight fours to score a quickfire 63 off just 36 deliveries before the match was abandoned due to rain.

Meanwhile, the match between Gazi and Dhaka saw both the second innings being played partly before rain washed out the contest at the BKSP-3 ground in Savar.

Gazi posted 97 for three in 20 overs.

The target was revised for Dhaka as they had to chase 133 runs in 20 overs and were on 77 for four after 13.1 overs before rain eventually washed out the game.
