‘If it was Tisha instead of Akhee, the shooting house would be closed’
Actress Sharmeen Akhee has finally been released from the hospital, after two months of treatment. The actress arranged a press conference to discuss how the shooting house didn't own up to its mistakes. The press meet was arranged at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, at around 12 pm.
During the conference, her husband, Rahat Kabir said, "If Nusrat Imrose Tisha would have been there instead of Sharmeen, the shooting house would have been permanently closed. This situation happened due to negligence. The owner of the shooting house didn't even contact us for the first 20 days after the incident. He should have come to the hospital on the first day, but he didn't."
Akhee expressed her gratitude towards the Almighty and the doctors, after being released from the ICU.
"I have heard many rumours surrounding the explosion at the shooting spot. Some people made up false rumours that I had been smoking in the bathroom. I am really disgusted and hurt by such lies. The explosion was caused due to gas accumulation," said the actress.
Sharmeen Akhee stated that she is still traumatised by the whole incident. The actress then went on to share what actually occurred during the explosion.
"I went to the bathroom before putting on the costume. As soon as I turned on the lights, I could see sparks flickering in front of my eyes. Within a few seconds, the flame spread all around. I tried to cover my face with my hands, but then the skin on my hands began to burn badly. The explosion destroyed everything inside and I immediately fell out of the bathroom," said Akhee.
On January 28, Akhee suffered burn injuries, following an explosion in the bathroom of a shooting location in Mirpur. Several parts of Akhee's body, including her hands, legs, and hair were burnt due to the explosion.
