Shamim's maiden fifty lifts Bangladesh to 124

Shamim Hossain Patwary scored his maiden half-century as Bangladesh were bowled out for 124 in the third T20I against Ireland in Chattogram on Friday. 

Shamim was the last man to fall for 51 (42) as the hosts were bowled out with five balls remaining, their lowest total of the three-match series, which they lead 2-0.  

After a five-match winning streak built on the back of fearless batting and thrilling pace bowling, the wheels finally seem to have come off for the new-look Tigers as they kept losing wickets while trying to play strokes from the word go.

Liton Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Rony Talukdar -- all in very good form throughout the series as the Tigers already won the series 2-0 -- failed to make their mark in the final T20I at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. The first three wickets fell within the first four overs and by the end of the Powerplay, Bangladesh were four down after having also lost their inspirational skipper Shakib Al Hasan.

The fearless batting that drew heavy praise from all and sundry led to their downfall today, although it must be said that there was a lack of application from most of the batters today.

Liton (5) was the first to go, in the second over, offering a simple catch at deep point against Mark Adair. Shanto (4) was the next man in, and next to go, holing out at deep midwicket off the bowling of Harry Tector. Rony (14) fell the next over, offering a catch at deep midwicket off Adair. 

Things didn't change much for the next batters as Shakib Al Hasan (6), Towhid Hridoy (12), debutant Rishad Hossain (8), Taskin Ahmed (0), Nasum Ahmed (13), Shoriful Islam (5) didn't do much better either as Bangladesh posted 124, after having notched 200-plus scores in the first two matches.

All the Ireland bowlers took wickets, with Adair leading the charge with three wickets.
