Author Tom Holland confused for Spiderman star by Indian Twitter users
Author Tom Holland's Twitter handle was bombarded with tags, as Indian fans mistook him to be the "Spider-Man: No way Home" star, shared his pics and tagged him for the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) gala.

Tom Holland (Spider-Man) arrived in Mumbai with his co-star Zendaya, on Friday to attend the NMACC's grand opening weekend. Because the actor's Twitter account is not verified, Indian fans mistakenly kept tagging the writer who shares the same name and whose account is verified.
Writer Tom Holland wrote, "Please make it stop", after a fan shared photo of Tom Holland (Spider-Man) with SRK, Salman, Zendaya, and Nita Ambani. One of the fans replied, "I am wheezing as I type this, but sincere apologies on behalf of my fellow countrymen." The writer replied to the user stating, "It appears that I have the entire country of India in my timeline!"
Later, as another tweet announced that Tom and Zendaya had left the country on Monday, the author hilariously tweeted, "Phew," as he hoped the attention would soon fade away.
While the Marvel actor is active on social media, he has taken an indefinite hiatus from Twitter. He posted a video last August in which he stated, "I have taken a break from social media for my mental health, because I find Instagram and Twitter to be overstimulating and overwhelming. When I read things about myself online, I get caught up and spiral. And, in the end, it's very bad for my mental health."
Tom Holland (Spider-Man) has 66.9 million Instagram followers and 7.2 million Twitter followers. He is more active on Instagram, where he posted photos from the NMACC event the next day.
