Cleaning operations at Bangabazar to start tomorrow: Salman F Rahman
Cleaning operations at Bangabazar and its adjacent markets, which were devastated by a massive fire on Tuesday, will begin tomorrow, Prime Minister's Private Industries and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman said today.
"Traders will be able to open their businesses on a temporary basis, following laws and regulations, at the place the day after tomorrow," he added.
While visiting the Bangabazar market this morning, Rahman said, "A list will be prepared, and traders will be compensated within three to four days according to the list. The compensation will be given based on damages.
"The list of traders and employees will be separate. Those who had permanent shops will only get priority," he added.
The fire ripped through the market on Tuesday morning, burning down nearly 3,000 shops full of clothes and ruining the livelihood of several thousand traders just weeks before Eid.
