Salman Khan slams ‘vulgarity, nudity’ on OTT
Salman Khan spoke against 'vulgarity' being shown on OTT platforms, and stated that 'clean content' needs to be shown on streaming platforms. He also emphasised on digital censorship and how it's necessary to adhere to family values.
At a recent event, The "Dabangg" star said that OTT is full of vulgarity, nudity and slang.
"Children as young as 15 or 16 are watching these web-series. Would you really want your young daughter to watch such content? I simply believe that OTT content should be reviewed. The cleaner the content, the higher the viewership," said the actor.
On talking about artistes who have done it all on the OTT screen, Salman Khan stated that doing such scenes make them vulnerable to security issues.
"You have done it all - lovemaking, kissing, and exposing scenes. Your watchman also watched it. This is seriously not acceptable to me for security reasons. We are Indians, we should never cross our boundaries. Thankfully things have changed a little bit as good and decent content are coming out," concluded the actor.
Several actors have received praise for their roles in shows and films that debuted on digital platforms in recent years. Some big names in the film industry, such as Saif Ali Khan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Shahid Kapoor, and Manoj Bajpayee, have ventured into the world of OTT. When theater attendance dropped due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many celebrities went digital with their films.
