MCCI donates Tk 1.42 crore to Bangabazar fire victims

The Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) today gave Tk 1.42 crore as financial assistance to 142 affected small traders of Bangabazar fire incident.

Each of 142 affected businessmen got one lakh taka from the chamber.

MCCI President Md Saiful Islam handed over the cheques of the financial assistance to the affected businessman at an event held at the MCCI office in Dhaka.

Mohammad Helal Uddin, president of Bangladesh Dokan Malik Samity was present at the event. Nearly 5,000 small shops were burnt to ashes in a massive fire on April 4 in Dhaka.
