Irrfan Khan's 'The Song of Scorpions' to release on April 28
"The Song of Scorpions", which was Irrfan Khan's last performance, will be released in theaters on April 28, ahead of the beloved actor's third death anniversary.
According to a popular myth, if a scorpion bites someone, they will die unless a scorpion-singer sings her song and cures them. On Wednesday, the trailer for Irrfan Khan's "The Song of Scorpions" was released.
The film, directed by Anup Singh, also features veteran actresses Waheeda Rehman and Golshifteh Farahani in important roles. On August 9, 2017, "The Song of Scorpions" made its world premiere at the 70th Locarno Film Festival in Locarno, Switzerland.
The trailer for the film is a deep dive into the beautiful world of the Rajasthan-set drama, which follows the narrative of Nooran, a fiercely independent tribal woman who learns the ancient healing skill of scorpion-singing from her grandmother Zubeida, played by Waheeda Rahman.
Irrfan's last big screen appearance was in the film, "Angrezi Medium", which was released in March 2020. In April that year, Irrfan passed away aged 53.
