Johnny Depp, Al Pacino collaborate together after 25 years
Renowned actor Johnny Depp is set to make a comeback to the director's chair with the biopic "Modi", which depicts the life of Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani, referred to as "Modi" by his acquaintances. Through this film, Johnny Depp and Al Pacino are set to work together again after 25 years.
The upcoming biopic film, "Modi", based on Dennis McIntyre's play "Modigliani", will feature Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani's life story, and is set to begin filming this fall in Budapest.
The screenplay for the film was written by Jerzy and Mary Kromolowski, and the story takes place over a 48-hour period, following Modi's desire to leave the city and end his career, and the chaos that ensues as he seeks advice from his friend and art dealer Leopold Zborowski, and faces a collector who could change his life.
The film will star Italian actor Riccardo Scamarcio as Modigliani, with French actor Pierre Niney portraying French artist Maurice Utrillo, and Hollywood legend Al Pacino playing art collector Gangnat.
The project is produced by Johnny Depp's IN.2 Films and Barry Navidi, and will be introduced to buyers at Cannes, with The Veterans handling international sales.
