Bangladesh and India will start the negotiation soon to sign the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with a view to elevating bilateral trade and investment between the two countries.

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma said this at a luncheon meeting of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) at its Gulshan office in Dhaka today.

Verma said the future of trade between the two countries lies in multimodal connectivity.

Md Saiful Islam, president of the chamber, and Syed Nasim Manzur, a former president, also spoke.
