It’s mango time

The mangoes of Satkhira have already won hearts at home and abroad. For the ninth time, farmers in the district are expected to export mangoes to different destinations including Germany, Italy France, Denmark, and the UK this season. To promote the seasonal fruit further, the Satkhira district administration recently organised an exhibition where different varieties of mangoes – Himsagar, Lyangra, Gopalbhog, Fazli, Haribhanga, Amrapali etc – were displayed. According to officials concerned, the production of mangoes is ample in the district this season and they would be able to export it after meeting local demand.
