Amber Heard to make first return after Depp trial at Taormina Film Festival
Amber Heard will make her first film promotion appearance in a while at the 69th Taormina Film Festival, for the world premiere of "In the Fire". The festival, which will be taking place between June 23 and July 1, in Sicily, will showcase Heard's supernatural-thriller.
This will be Heard's first film promotion after her legal battle with Johnny Depp, as she aims to redirect attention to her film career.
"In the Fire" is set in 1899 and follows a pioneering psychiatrist as she attempts to treat a disturbed child accused of being the devil. As the events escalate, the psychiatrist races against time to save the child.
The Taormina Film Festival, known for its prestige and past premieres of iconic films, will also feature other notable works such as "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" with Harrison Ford, the Edoardo Leo/Massimiliano Bruno-directed "The Worst Days", and the world premiere of "Billie's Magic World", featuring Alec Baldwin.
The event will kick off with the star-studded Pavarotti Forever Opening Gala, benefiting the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation. It will feature clips of concerts and documentaries. The gala evening of short films will be curated by Bella Thorne.
