1 Covid-19 death in 24hrs, current positivity rate 9.74pc

One person died of Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

A total of 1,705 samples were tested across the country during this period and 166 new coronavirus cases were recorded, it added.

At least 29,455 people in the country died of Covid-19 so far and the death rate stands at 1.44 percent.

With the new infections, the total number of cases rose to 20,41,132, the release added.

The daily positivity rate was 9.74 percent, said the release. The overall positivity rate stands at 13.21 percent.

At least 87 Covid-19 patients have recovered within this time. The total number of recoveries now stands at 20,07,238 with a recovery rate at 98.34 percent, said the release.

The deceased was a female -- aged between 51-60 years old, added the release.
