Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon stated that cricket is taking away a lion's share of his time and he is thinking to move away from his role to give time to his other commitments.

The BCB boss spoke to the media after the Tigers' record 546-run win over Afghanistan in the lone Test in Mirpur on Saturday.

"I have mainly concentrated my entire life on pharmaceuticals, so everything revolved around this. Then there is politics which is my father's legacy and it is very sensitive for me, so I remain busy with these.

"Apart from that I have at least twenty other things where I have to give my time. But this cricket is taking all my time. I had to cancel the meeting today and I can't explain how important it was for me but I deferred it only to watch the Test match.

Cricket is taking the majority of my time and that is the reason why I think I need to move away from this as soon as possible. But I want to give something to Bangladesh cricket before I go," Papon told the media on Saturday.

The 62-year-old was re-elected as the BCB president last year and has been in office since taking up the post in 2012.
Papon previously said that the doctor had advised him not to watch cricket especially the close matches that could affect his health.
