Ensuring digital services for migrant workers
The government's Information and Communication Technology division will work with the "Ami Probashi" app to provide different digital services to migrant workers, said State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak today.
"We want to ensure services for about 1.20 crore expatriate brothers and sisters at home and abroad through Ami Probashi app," he said.
He was addressing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the ICT division and Ami Probashi Ltd at the ICT Tower in the capital.
Ami Probashi is a government-approved mobile app and web portal that assists aspiring migrants in gaining employment abroad by engaging all stakeholders, according to its website.
There will be scope to analyse the data and find out skills set of migrant workers and determine future demands, he added.
Addressing the event as chief guest, Expatriates' Welfare Minister Imran Ahmad said Ami Probashi is working with the ministry as a service provider. He hopes that their collaboration will be stronger in future.
Namir Ahmad, co-founder and chief executive officer of Ami Probashi, also spoke.
