180 businessmen awarded with CIP status

140 under the export category and the rest 40 under the trade category as ex-officio
180 businesspeople to get CIP status

The government today awarded the Commercially Important Person (CIP) status to 180 businessmen for their extraordinary contribution to the economy in 2021.

Of the total recipients, 140 were given the CIP status under the export category and the rest 40 under the trade category as ex-officio as the directors of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, Senior Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh and FBCCI President Md Jashim Uddin handed over the CIP cards to the recipients at Pan Pacific Sonargaon in Dhaka.

The commerce ministry and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) have jointly been awarding the CIP cards to the winners following the CIP guidelines of the 2013.
