Covid-19: 2 deaths in 24hrs, positivity rate 6.94pc

At least two people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am today.

Of the deceased, one was male and one was female. They were between 61-80 years old, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During this time, at least 121 new coronavirus cases were recorded testing 1,744 samples across the country. With the new ones, the total number of cases rose to 20,42,252.

The daily positivity rate was 6.94 percent.

At least 29,461 people have died of Covid-19 in the country since the first case was detected on March 8, 2020.

The overall death rate stands at 1.44 percent.

At least 146 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 20,08,200 and the recovery rate at 98.33 percent, said the release.
