Want everyone’s films to do well: Bubly
This Eid is a special one for Shobnom Bubly. Two of her films, "Prohelika" and "Casino" have been released in theatres today. Her films last Eid also reached unprecedented heights, as Bangladeshi audiences reacted exceptionally well to "Leader Amie Bangladesh".
Bubly sits down with The Daily Star to speak about Eid releases and their subsequent success.
Two of your films are being released today, how are you feeling?
Firstly, Eid greetings for everyone and I feel great. My gratitude towards my fans, as an artiste's film being released is a big deal for them. That too, two films. I hope fans will enjoy both "Prohelika" and "Casino".
Can you tell us a bit about 'Prohelika'?
This film adds a new feather to my cap. It has an exceptional story. In the film, I've donned the role of Orpa, Mahfuz Ahmed plays Mana and Nasir Uddin Khan, Jamshed. Chayanika Chowdhury was amazing in her craft and so were everyone involved.
Playing Arpa was very challenging, I had to take extensive preparations. My director helped in that regard. Thus I won't reveal much, let some surprises remain for the big screens.
How was your experience acting opposite Mahfuz Ahmed?
He is an amazing human. He is an exceptional actor, no doubt about that. I've learned a lot acting beside him.
This Eid, your film has to compete with Shakib Khan, Apu Biswas and more. Do you feel pressured in any way?
No, I don't feel pressured or anxious in any way. Instead, I wish everyone well with their films. The film industry is a family, as much as I'll watch my films, I will watch everyone else's as well. I want everyone's films to do well.
